Original to the house were open steps and an inexpensive ivory metal railing. The wood and glass railing was designed and stained to blend with the existing wood veneer design on the large wall and curved archway. The stairs were blocked in and carpeted, and a knee wall was constructed to provide privacy on the second floor. The glass keeps the look light and contemporary. Stair lighting nicely illuminates the way to the lower level.
