Eclectic Design, Inc. is an interior decoration and design company for residential and small commercial interior and exterior spaces.

I have always taken great care to listen to my clients and get to know them so that their spaces reflect who they are and how they live. I also inform and guide my clients on the quality of items sourced for their projects from lighting, furniture, countertops, cabinets, flooring fabric, etc., and provide direction compatible with their budget, home, lifestyle and design aesthetic.

When working with my clients, the function of a space takes precedent over the design, selecting furnishings with classic lines that help a design stand the test of time, blending in trendy patterns and accessories to keep a design current, and sourcing quality products are my guiding principles. My decorating approach is classic with a twist no matter the client’s design aesthetic.

My business’s name, Eclectic Design, reflects my 18-plus-year delight working with all décor styles. I have an innate ability to restyle or design a room blending existing furnishings and accessories with new items to create one-of-a-kind spaces truly reflective of each client in an inviting and comfortably livable way.

When you hire ED Inc., you get highly respected, seasoned and vetted professionals that are part of my long-standing team. From the contractor to the electrician, the painter, seamstress and carefully selected suppliers, I have assembled a team dedicated to the highest level of service and ensuring design integrity.

My Clients

My clients are busy with work, children and life. They don’t have or may not have the time, the knowhow or resources to redesign, redecorate or renovate an interior or exterior space.

They want me to solve a problem with a room’s layout, they want comfortable seating, organization/storage or just to update their spaces. They look to me for kitchen, bathroom and office renovations, to build out their basement and create an office space in a style that is reflective of them and how they live, using quality materials and professionals bringing their projects to life.

How I Work

Consultations – I love working with DIY clients for one-time or ongoing partnerships who want professional guidance on interior and exterior paint colors, a furniture layout plan, room restyling suggestions, etc. This enables you to comfortably move forward with your projects with confidence.

Our first meeting is in your home. Thereafter, we can discuss your project in person or virtually.

Full Project Work – Whether for a main floor remodel or project-by-project basis, I will work at a pace that is comfortable for you. To begin, I will put a design plan together, including itemized costs, for your restyling, redesign or remodeling project that can be completed at one time or over a period of time. See Design Plans below.

Design Plans

DIY Restyling – This plan gives you the freedom to source your project materials, while providing the comfort of professional guidance and a design ear to bounce ideas off of as your project progresses. This plan does not apply to renovation projects.

DIY Kitchen & Bathroom Material Selections – This plan is for you if you have a contracting team in place or if you plan to do the work yourself. I can source materials for your project, based on your investment allotment, from my resources or yours, order and send them to your project site or you can oversee that process. Items selected through your resources or those of your contractor are ordered by your contractor/you.

Retail Room Design – I will restyle a space for you using retail sources based on your investment allotment.

This plan is based on your room measurements if we work virtually. Accompanying a room plan, a material selections document will be sent to you along with the resource information so you can purchase the materials and set up your new room.

The benefit of this plan is that the room design and retail furnishing information is ready to go. All you need to do is place the orders and set up your new room! And while you do all the heavy lifting, you have the satisfaction of saying that YOU did it! This plan does not apply to renovation projects.

Custom Design – This plan is for you if you want a fully-custom design plan that suits your design tastes and lifestyle. I will source quality materials based on your investment allotment utilizing my resources.

My vetted team is amazing! Whether for custom window dressings, couches and chair; kitchen, bathroom, main floor and basement renovations; or built-ins, fireplaces, custom laundry room or a she-shed, my team does great work! I trust them to bring my designs to reality keeping design integrity front and center.

This plan allows for a fully custom space that has been realized for only YOU! I am involved in every step of your project to ensure design integrity, quality and attention to detail.

New Construction – I grew up with parents who built beautiful spec homes every few years.  An incredible amount of work goes into the decision-making process -- exterior roof and house colors, windows, fireplace materials, plumbing selections, kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, lighting and switch locations, flooring and bathroom tile, TV cable location, door hardware, cabinet hardware, patio and deck designs, landscaping … the list goes on! Making these decisions on the contractor’s timeline is no easy task.

What I bring to the table is years of knowledge having been through the decision-making and construction processes. I will work with you to pull together all the interior and exterior materials, finishes and colors. I will ask questions you might not think of, and help guide you to help your contractor stay on schedule.

Giving Back

Eclectic Design, Inc. is proud to donate to Medical Aid to Haiti “MATH”, a non-profit organization based in Connecticut.

For a number of years, I have listened in awe of the trips a group of doctors from Hartford’s St. Francis Hospital have taken to the area of Port-au-Prince. Aiding those in desperate need of medical attention, as well as training the Haitian staff of the medical clinic, was the goal of every visit. Our dear friend and St. Francis Labor & Delivery nurse, Kathy Aries, accompanied every mission over the years.

Many folks requiring life-saving surgery would have lost their lives if it wasn’t for this selfless group of medical professionals devoting long hours while leaving their own families. MATH aims to support four weekly mission trips annually.

Another organization that I have been involved with for nearly 40 years is Special Olympics CT. I began as a one-on-one guide during the Summer Games followed by helping to plan the Games at Yale New Haven. Most recently I am a donor.

For more information on MATH visit https://medicalaidtohaiti.org/ and for Special Olympics CT visit https://www.soct.org/. If you are an Eclectic Design Inc. client and would like to donate to one or both organizations, my company will match your donation up to $100 per organization per year.
